Oh, it cannot be! In just a few more weeks, we will be seeing leaves turn and fall to the ground as the cooler weather sets in and puts the end to the summer of 2011.

Here are some great trends you will want to add to your closet for this Fall:

I love to research old sewing patterns and magazine ads to see just where some of our silhouettes came from and how we adapt them to the modern styles we see today.

This ad from McCall’s magazine from Feb. 1929 features diagonal patterns. A mainstay for today’s plus size fashion styles is the use of the diagonal seams.   The use of this type of silhouette uses pleats or princess seams on the bodice which draws the eye downward, thereby making slender lines appear even more streamlined.

A variation of the diagonal is the asymmetrical style, especially in a  hemline can minimize and flatter as it breaks up the natural line of the leg.  This style is very popular for plus size as it provides a similar illusion as the diagonal lines especially when done in cotton.  Pair this Comfy USA Inside Tie Tunic with a pair of leggings and  off you go!
